WARNING: These Harmful Effects of Eating Kangkong Are Absolutely Surprising!

Medical experts and dietitians always emphasize the importance of vegetables to our body. They recommend eating larger portions of veggies for us to achieve optimum health. One of the healthiest are green leafy group. They are proven to be low in fat, high in dietary fiber and rich in folic acid, vitamin C and phytochemicals that can reduce the risk of cancer and heart illnesses. Among these, kangkong (water spinach) is the cheapest and most rampant everywhere. It grows in boggy locations, but its taste is exemplary. This can actually be served in fine dining restaurants.

Chefs believe that in order to keep the nutrients intact, vegetables should be half-cooked. Other cultures, even like to eat them raw. But with the wonders of water spinach, people are not aware of the harmful and even fatal effects of eating this veggie uncooked or fresh. 


Based on studies, a species of parasitic intestinal fluke named fasciolopsis buskin that can reside in the muddy areas where kangkong also grows. Chances are, these organisms can also invade these nutritious green and if eaten raw or uncooked, they can enter and harm the body. It is also important for us to clean our food properly and cook them at the proper temperature and length of time. There are cases wherein victims suffered from digestive issues and allergic reactions after eating a contaminated kangkong. Some even died because the fluke multiplied in the body and caused so much danger. This is such a serious matter that everyone needs to be aware of.

Again, make sure to keep your kitchen clean and observe proper procedures in preparing our food. We might ingest illness instead of vitamins and nutrients if we will be careless.
